In this six week class we will explore the Five Elements of Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. Archetypes are larger-than-life, over-arching energies that inform our thoughts, feelings, and actions as we go through life. Each of the Five Elements has an associated archetype. We'll explore five governing archetypes and the power of each Element as an elemental or building-block force in our bodies. Learn more about your own preferences for moving the abstract or the concrete, the archetype or the elemental. In this six week class we will also deepen our skills in grounding and centering ourselves.

The class will use embodied movement -- spontaneous movement that arises from a strong inner connection -- as our primary form of expression. Paper and basic art supplies will be provided. And we will use yin-types of soundings.

Drop-ins OK. For more information or to register, call Kathleen at 206-551-5558. Kathleen will draw on her background as an acupuncturist and psychotherapist to enrich participants' experience of the Five Elements.

Sunday September 7, 2008 at the Theosophical Society 4-5:30pm.

The Five Elements -- Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, and Wood -- from the Asian tradition offer us a way of looking at the inter-relationships of the world. Each of the Five Elements has a Deva or Archetype that rules it and each has an elemental energy that makes it a building block of our reality. In this introduction to the Five Elements we will be connecting with a Deva and Elemental on the imaginative plane and moving the energy through our body through simple movements done while seated.

"Loved it! The class was the best hour of my week, I always left feeling lighter and empowered."
